Be aware of safety professionals who advertise they are "OSHA Certified". OSHA does not provide certification to any safety professionals. Professionals may have completed OSHA training courses and may have a certificate of completion for an OSHA course, but OSHA is not a certifying body. OSHA does have a program that "authorizes" certain trainers that have met specific requirements to teach OSHA Outreach classes (I am authorized by OSHA to teach these classes, my OSHA Authorization card number is 24-919000095) for either general industry employers, construction employers, maritime employers and emergency disaster response employers. Each trainer is required to carry their authorization card whenever they are teaching an outreach class, and they are required to show the participants their card before the start of the training session. You can verify any trainer by visiting https://www.osha.gov/dte/outreach/outreach_trainers and searching by the trainer's last name (Lindley is my last name).
